Getting here

Rossatz lies on the right, southern bank of the Danube. From Vienna it is about an hour and a half via the A1 and S5, from Linz around two hours. Coming from Krems you cross the Danube bridge at Mautern and follow the river upstream — a fine stretch of road right along the water.

From Dürnstein, take the motor ferry. It runs in the warmer months and crosses in a few minutes. On foot or by bicycle it is the most pleasant way to arrive.

The Danube Cycle Path runs past the house. If you are planning a stage: Rossatz makes a good stop precisely because you do not have to leave the path to reach us.

The river beaches are a ten-minute walk, and the hiking trails begin behind the garden.

Good to know for your stay

The village shop across the road is open Monday to Saturday in the morning and carries everything for daily needs. It is closed on Sundays — worth remembering if you arrive on a Saturday evening.

The church opposite rings its bells at night as well, though at a lower volume.

The garden and the lounge with its library are open to all guests.
